No! This 690 Quest Kit has been developed and produced by KTM Basel AG, an official KTM Dealer. KTM knows about our kit and congratulates us on the result but KTM themselves are not directly involved!
It will not have a big impact on your bike and for the vast majority of alterations, you will be able to build it back to the original specification. You do have to remove the ignition coil holder from the frame and relocate it to the center of the bike. It can however be placed back or even remain there in the event you you build your bike back to it's original format.
If you have a variety of tools and some good experience with working on your bike you will be more than capable of fitting the 690 Quest kit yourself. We provide you with a step-by-step instruction guide with pictures to help you through it. If you are having any difficulties you are able to contact us directly via email or our contact form and one of our skilled mechanics will contact you back as soon as possible to help you along the way!
We do not always have a 690 Enduro R available, however, it is possible for us to source one suitable for your requirements. Points to consider though – if you are not a Swiss resident you will have to export this to your Country and thus incur taxes and duties according to your customs.
Yes you certainly can! We can pretty much supply you with most items you can wish for and are hoping to develop a number of new products in the near future for you to purchase with/without the kit! We do not have a list as there are so many products available it would be enormous. Not only that, it's down to personal preference as to what is desired, whether you'd prefer to use your Defy Quest for adventure / rally / trail / daily use riding etc.
We suggest you compile a wish list or give us an idea of the kind of riding you will be undertaking and we can help make some suggestions to additional extras for you!
Sorry, no, only for the simple reason that our kit does not fit properly with the original rear tank.
Yes, ofcourse. A total of 800 CHF. Any extras will be charged at our standard hourly rate.
Unfortunately not! The new rally seat provided is shaped specifically for the Quest kit layout. We do, however, have contacts worldwide with companies who can reupholster / change the rally seat for you. If you require this information, please do not hesitate to contact us and we will do all we can to help!
Yes it is possible. “Under the hood”, the KTM 690 Enduro and KTM 690 SMC do not really differ making it possible to fit the 690 Quest Kit on to both models.
We're sorry, the kit comes as a whole. We can, however, sell replacement ones to Quest customers only.
Yes you can! As there is an extra fuel pump included with the kit, this makes it perfectly possible!
The reroute of the exhaust has been specially designed to fit the Leovince exhaust which is provided with the Defy Quest Kit.
Almost all modifications to extend the cable tree are made by extension cables and original plugs. For the neatest results inside your Nav Tower you have to extend the cable from the speedometer. This is achieved by cutting the original speedometer.
Not at all! All you need to fit the 690 Quest Kit is provided, including all bolts, nuts and even all wires and tie-wraps.
Please give us your postal code and we will send you the price within two working days. (Info@ktmbasel.ch)
All of our customers from Germany who purchased the 690 Quest Kit have been able to get the bike road legal. We offer papers for the tanks and have a solution for the lock to pass the TÜV. As we are not 100% familiar with the TÜV, we can help and advise you how to pass but you will need to retrieve the rest of the data yourself.
Yes you can disable the front left and/or right tank in case something goes wrong. You are unable to disable the rear tank though as this feeds the fuel pump.
Yes it is! There is an additional fuel pump included with the 690 Defy Quest Kit which makes this entirely possible.
Yes, this is technically possible. To fit it all correctly you would need the header and exhaust kit too. Please contact us directly if you are interested.
No, there is no welding involved on the frame work when fitting our 690 Quest Kit.
Yes, correct. To make a perfect fitment we had to relocate the ignition switch meaning the original steering lock will no longer work. For some countries this could be a problem for ensuring the bike is road legal. By law in Switzerland we must be able to lock the bike but it is not specified that this must be via the steering lock. Carrying a normal disc lock is satisfactory law wise in Switzerland.
If you would like to know more about the laws and regulations of your country, please clarify these details with your local authorities. (Please do let us know your results so we can upload a list for your country on this page!)
The Quest on the 690 Enduro R bike, fully fuelled, comes to 178kg.
The Quest kit will fit all KTM 690 Enduro and KTM 690 SMC models up to the 2013 models.
No, sorry. Due to the new spark plug and ABS system on the 2014 690 Enduro and 2014 690 SMC model as well as the 2015 models, the 690 Quest 2.0 Kit will not fit. It will, however, fit all older models.
Yes we certainly can. We can build you a 690 Quest Kit fitted bike and make sure you have all the correct papers for exporting the bike. We will also ensure you do not need to pay the 8% Swiss tax upon export.
